We don’t reach the highest point of our relationship with Jesus Christ at a time when He blesses us. The highest point of our relationship with Jesus Christ is when in spite of the world we see, in spite of what we feel, in spite of what we are going through we put our trust in Jesus Christ and we maintain our desire to fulfill the will of God in our life. Healthy or not, happy or not, suffering or not, rich or poor we know that our God, our Lord Jesus Christ has a plan for us.
Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the plans I have for you” — this is the LORD’s declaration — “plans for your well-being, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope” still don’t know God’s plan for you? Then read on in verse 12 “You will call to me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart.” We have to seek God with all of our heart. We have to build our faith by instilling the knowledge of God’s word into not only our minds but upon our hearts. Proverbs 7:3 says “Tie them to your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart.” And then in Proverbs 3:5 - 6 it says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
So the key to building a strong faith is believing in the Lord Jesus Christ with all of our heart, mind and soul, accepting Jesus into our heart and then to follow Him. We have a choice to stop there or to grow in our Christian faith. The best way to do that is through knowledge of His word which is the Bible, fellowship with fellow Christians and to have a desire to please God and bring glory to Him in all we say and do.
