Missions:

It is that exciting time of the year again for ENBC missions. This is the 18th year that we have packed Samaritan Purse Shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. I am thrilled to announce that an anonymous donor is paying the shipping expense for all boxes filled by our church.  Our boxes, labels and prayer guides have arrived, and they are available in the front hall for you to pick up today, Sunday September 28th. Please pick up the number of shoeboxes that you would like to fill. The filled shoeboxes are due back to the church no later than Sunday, November 16th. We DO NOT have designated shoppers to pack boxes for others this year. However, if you're not physically able and you need help in shopping for your items ask a brother or sister or announce a request for help and I am sure someone will be happy to shop for you.

Thank you so much for your generosity over the years with this mission goal. The boxes reach over 160 nations and territories and 50 countries that are hard to reach. The children ages 2-4, 5-9 and 10-14 are given with their shoebox a 12-session study guide booklet “The Greatest Journey” written in over 80 languages. Many (adults and children) have accepted Christ as their Savior because of this booklet. For many children, this shoebox gift will be the first gift they have ever received. I was present on a mission trip years ago during distribution of the boxes at that location and I saw the excitement from the children. Many were brought to tears when they opened their gift box.

When you pick up your box or boxes, please read the instructions. There will be provided within your box a list of items that are banned and cannot be included in the boxes. Please note that there are items restricted this year that were previously allowed. There will also be provided within your box a list of item suggestions and a link to locate online, great age specific ideas to fill your box. It is very important to pray for the child that will receive your box as you fill it.   Thank you for being such a loving and giving church family. Let us continue to look outside of ourselves in our service to our Lord Jesus Christ and continue to share the gospel and love of Christ with others.

From The Pastor

The Bible states, “let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice!”   (1 Chronicles 16:10). The Sunday morning worship service has been filled with people rejoicing in the Lord. The Eagles Nest is Rejoicing! There is no doubt God is blessing our church with His presence. We lift our voices to exalt the name of Jesus and praise His holy name. The psalmist said, “God is enthroned on the praises of Israel” (Psalm 22:3). Come join us, bring a friend, neighbor or coworker, and experience the presence of God. I am certain your heart will rejoice in the presence of the Lord.

Beyond The Wall Food Bank

As I sit outside and reflect on the upcoming week, I am reminded of how truly blessed I am. One of my blessings is being able to deliver our Church donations to Beyond the Walls Food Bank. We, because I represent you, are always greeted with a smile and a thank you for our gifts for the food insecure. As we enter the fall season, let’s count ourselves blessed to share what we have received from GOD. As you shop, remember to use those BOGOs or coupons to purchase food for those who might be in need.

Thank you, Barbara Jackson,

Food Bank Coordinator
