Prayer should not be used as a last resort. Prayer is powerful and our first thought and choice should always be to take it to God. Below are some scriptures we can use to pray over someone. God’s word has power. You could pray scripture from head to toe over your children, grandchildren, wife, husband, parents, siblings or even a friend or co-worker. Read below.
Pray scripture over someone from head to toe:
- Head- That they would dwell on the things of God. Philippians 4:8
- Eyes- That their vision and focus would be set on God. Psalm 34:5
- Nose- That their lives would carry the fragrance of Christ. 2 Corinthians 2:14-15
- Mouth- That their mouths would confess Jesus as Lord leading to salvation. Romans 10:9-10
- Ears- That they would not only be hearers of the Word but also obedient to carry out the Word. James 1:22-25
- Arms- That they would help bear the burdens of others. Galatians 6:2
- Hands- That they would be humble givers. Matthew 6:2-4
- Lungs- That they would be aware of their breath as a gift from God. Job 33:4
- Stomach- That they would know Jesus as the Bread of Life. John 6:27
- Heart- That they would love God with all their heart. Deuteronomy 6:5
- Legs- That they would run their race with endurance. Hebrews 12:1-2
- Feet- That they would be sandaled with readiness for the gospel. Ephesians 6:15
Prayer is not a last resort. Praying and using God’s word is powerful! We need to remember to take it to God first.
