The Water’s Edge
Have you ever sat by the water’s edge and felt the peaceful surroundings? You can feel serenity when being near the rushing waves along an oceans beach, lying by the sunny seaside, boating in a lake cove, sitting along a bank beside a lake or just watching the water run across the pebbles in a creek bed. It is easy to sense the tranquility that the water brings if you open your heart to its glistening qualities.
In John 7:37-39 Jesus spoke about “living water”. Reminding us to come to Him and that by believing in and accepting Him as our Savior that we would have rivers of living water flow in us. This was referring to the Holy Spirit being inside of us. So it is no surprise that as we sit at the edge of the water where it meets up with land forming the shoreline that we feel an inner sensation impressing the emotional comprehension that there is no limit to peace and harmony that we can have in our hearts. Jesus can bring that to us if we will receive it.
After spending time at the water’s edge we find that this life will spin back into play and we must return to face the reality of this world we live in. Remember when life is bearing down on you like a storm to take a moment to return to the waters edge and feel the calm. Spend time with Jesus at that water’s edge. Take a trip to the waters edge in person, in your thoughts, during a time of prayer or even in your dreams. Allow the experience to relax you and bring you to a special place where we can find peace and tranquility with our Lord Jesus Christ. Store a little of that in your soul to take along with you as you cope with each new day
