Are we too busy to read our bible, too busy to pray on a regular basis? Do we find every excuse to not go to church, Do we only make time for God when we are in need or when tragedy and trials strike? Do we too often when given the option choose, sports, fun at the lake, time with friends, shopping or sleep instead of giving God the praise, worship and devotion that He so deserves? We all have done this to some degree or another. With how we all put God on our back burner, why do we for one second think we deserve for God to jump up and give us a moment of His time just because we need Him and suddenly we decide to give Him a moment of our time? Think about that for a moment.
How dare any of us criticize God for anything. God, no matter how we treat Him, no matter how we don’t make Him our priority God NEVER leaves us. He gave His son up to die a horrific death to give us the option to accept Him as our savior and gain eternal life. He never abandons us and He always has a plan in motion that has our best interest at work. We may not see Him at work in our lives at the time when we are facing trials and tribulations. Remember though that we don’t deserve for Him to do anything for us. He owes us nothing. If we had a friend that treated us for one day the way we treat God then most of us would exclude that friend from our lives. So before we blame God for anything going on in our life we must take a look at how many times we’ve made ourselves available to Him. Take a look at how we are following Him, how we our living our lives according to His word?
How often are we spending time with Him in prayer seeking His guidance in our lives? We can’t exclude Him daily and then when tragedy strikes blame Him. We made our own choice long before that to walk away from God so the first thing we need to do is not to blame God but to come and fall on our knees, cry out in repentance, and to make the decision to turn to Jesus and follow Him. Will we be the perfect Christian? Of course not and we will fail The Lord daily but the most important thing we can do in life is first to accept Jesus as our Savior and second to follow Him and work daily to have a close relationship with Him through the study of His word and through prayer time. Run to Him, even though we have not been the child we should have been just like a loving Father would do, He welcomes us home with open arms.
